Please join Antony Cairns and Simon Baker from the Tate Modern to talk about Cairn’s unusual and intriguing practice. Cairns seeks the imperfections of various traditional and experimental techniques within photography, using disused technology and traditional printing, he is often absorbed in the process of photographic image making. His work is presented in a variety of different yet also complementary ways that highlight and embrace the photographic medium in its complex entirety. He is also known for his delicate and often small edition handmade photo-books that push the boundaries of what can be considered a photographic monograph. A selection of these books will be available for viewing during this event. There will be a booksigning after the talk.
