Part 1: 22:00 – 23:00 : “PHOTOGRAPHIE & LOVE” – Through Zanele Muholi’s Work [JP]
One of the exhibiting artists of KYOTOGRAPHIE 2017, Muholi currently resides in Johannesburg and works toward raising awareness about problems the LGBT community and particularly black lesbians face in South Africa. Yuka Kanno (associate professor, Doshisha University/Queer Studies, Film and Visual Culture Studies) and Sohei Nishino (associate professor, Kyoto Seika University/Sociology) discuss and read Muholi’s work from the perspective of art scene and history of Kyoto. Part 2: 23:30 – : “LOVE/SEX/ACTIVISM” @CLUB LUV+
“CLUB LUV+” is a legendary party that held countless parties at METRO. Focusing on AIDS, sex, & sexuality. As a revival during KYOTOGRAPHIE, CLUB LUV+ comes back to the city! The night will be full of entertainment with a drag queen performance, concert & interview with Lang Lee from Seoul, and music by DJ Takuya Minami & Yosuke Yukimatsu. Food will be served by Tropic Thunder (ex.voxxn cafe).
